These images are part of the beauty editorial, shot with makeup artist Xoe Kingsley.
The idea was to put across a playful energy and freshness; beauty a little outside of the lines. Inspiration came from Val Garland’s AW13 “so wrong it’s right” look for Vivienne Westwood. Strong, pigmented primaries add dimension to a natural, polished skin. Hair is purposefully textured, with wet and dry elements. Skin: Bobbi Brown, Suqqu and Kryolan. Hair: Bumble and Bumble.

Hush Woman Campaign.
This multiple-date project was shot in our studios and produced and filmed by Agency represented crew, lighting design and supply by Olly Hearsey, make-up by Xoe Kingsley.
We were asked by Giles Petersons Brownwood Recordings to shoot the new album artwork and promo images for Gang Colours (aka Will Ozanne) second album “Invisible in your city”.
Being big fan’s of Gang Colours 1st album The Keychain Collection, we were all massively excited at Lion Works to be asked to photograph the follow up to his debut.
And now after a long wait, we can show you the artworks and promo images for Invisible In Your City, which is officially due to be released on 16th September. We collaborated with award winning art director Richard Robinson for this project, who worked with us to come up with the idea of shooting Will behind glass and paint.

We had some work published on Institute Mag recently.
The shoot was with fashion model Anna Tatton. The set is a juxtaposition of polluted and pure. Smudged titian and ochre earth tones contrast textured black, with playful finishes in hair and make-up creating distance and intimacy.
The look was shot on a coffee Colorama backdrop, using Profoto 1000w D1 Airs and a combination of light shapers (Beauty Dish, Strip Boxes, Snoot, Barn Doors) to bring the looks together.

we shot some images of American rapper Danny Brown to accompany an exclusive interview for Rankin’s online fashion and music magazine, Hunger TV.
We’d read a pretty funny quote about Danny nearly being signed to 50 cent’s label last year, but that he was dropped at the last minute because of his “pants being too tight”. Far from being sartorially challenged, Danny has been referenced as the “poster boy” for Summer’s 90’s hip hop /streetwear vs tailoring trend and walked in Marc McNairy’s closing New York Fashion Week show. With both his threads and his music referencing the nineties, we really wanted to bring some of those themes into our shoot.
Danny found himself in some hot water earlier this year after a particular paramore in the audience instigated some onstage “relations“. We wanted to reference this often cited female attention without being lude or clichee and tied our ideas together with the help of arm models Alex and Evie. Make up artist Xoe took inspiration from iconic artist Keith Haring using bright, block colours and stylist Heather Falconer was called in to pull together some looks with a nod to the hot-colours of Yo! MTV’s trading cards.
Danny Brown releases one of this years most anticipated hip hop albums “Old” imminently and is winding up the tour supporting the release (in the UK and Europe) now. Listen here to the collaboration withA$AP Rocky, “Kush Coma”.

We worked with the talented hair stylist, Hannah De Frateschi and makeup artist Xoe Kingsley to shoot some amplified beauty shots with M+P model Ishika.
The two looks were developed by Hannah and Xoe to compliment and contrast with each other. Satin skin and a beguiling reverse smokey eye peak through veils of iron straight hair in the first set. The second has dripping and deeply textured tendrils cling to a stone-wet skin and dark glossed lids.
We had to be very careful lighting theses images, especially with the wet look. Too much or too little light directed or exposed in the wrong way, can really effect how this technique turns out. We used Profoto lighting and a Hassleblad H4D to shoot the set.

We shot a beauty editorial recently with makeup artist Xoe Kingsley.
Xoe created a sunworn complexion with a warm satin finish, high tone and freckles.
The look suggests strength with exaggerated brows and imperfect mascara, embracing a slightly wild beauty. The hair was inspired by the new Wetlook seen across LFW15 but with a nod to long summer days and sea swims.
A mixture of Profoto strip lights, beauty dishes and deep umbrellas were used to create the lighting.

After seeing Sarah E Buchanan’s future-aeronaut inspired graduate collection, we worked to design a set of stills and short fashion film to showcase the incredible pieces. Buchanan’s voluminous dresses and intricate headwear echo the form of Meiji kimono or Kendo battle-dress but use contemporary fabrics; luminous poly-satins and custom-designed digitally marbled metallic PVC.
When we were talking about how we wanted to present the pieces, we were again and again drawn to the ancient east and airships, a fierce femininity and the cityscapes and society of Blade Runner or Akira.

The salamander is an amphibian ascribed with fantastic and occult qualities. These mythological powers include a resistance to fire so complete that the animal supposedly lives in the very heart of the hottest volcanoes, yet possesses a body cool enough to extinguish flames. “…I have several times put [salamander hair] in the fire and made it red hot and after taken it out, which being cold, yet remained perfect wool.” – Holme, 1688.
Designed to envelope the face, neck or to consume the intimate space in flame tones, Simon Webster created hair styles that were naieve, dramatic and exaggerated. The makeup design by Xoe Kingsley provides a contrast to the hot chaos. The complexion remains cool and flawless with amphibian wetness or moonglow polish.
